About the Position:
This is a unique opportunity for a corporate law clerk to be part of a growing and dynamic legal team. The successful candidate would experience progressive career growth, professional development, and gain valuable learning experiences as the company continues to grow. The law clerk will report to the Canadian General Counsel, and s/he may directly support a number of attorneys and senior paralegals working on corporate and other matters.

Responsibilities:
Support and/or perform corporate secretarial activities relating to all Canadian Hub legal entities including minute books, resolutions, authorized signatories and powers of attorney.

Assist in completing and/or complete clerical work related to amalgamations and other legal duties in collaboration with the legal team and external service providers in all Canadian jurisdictions.

Assist in preparing or prepare director and shareholder meeting resolutions and materials.

Conduct relevant legal research and other related duties as required by legal team members.

Complete clerical, administrative, and other tasks as needed including spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, docketing, and scheduling.

Qualifications:
0-5 years experience as a law clerk in a law firm or corporate environment.

Post-secondary education in legal administration or related field including a Law Clerk or Paralegal Diploma.

Background in or desire to providing support to legal department professionals, demonstrating good judgement and an understanding of, and adherence to, confidentiality practices.

Exceptional organizational and task prioritization skills, including the ability to prioritize job duties and work in a [fast and] detail-oriented manner.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing documentation accurately, paying attention to detail.

Good research skills and demonstrated ability to find relevant and needed legal information.

Good working knowledge of/or desire to learn OBCA, CBCA, and other related corporate legislative requirements.

Demonstrated experience with/ or desire to learn Microsoft Office products.

Exposure to e-billing and/or matter management platforms a plus.

Insurance, brokerage and/or financial services industry experience a plus.

Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing company.
