Register Nurse – New Grad

Position Summary
Summary:
The New Graduate Registered Nurse provides nursing care to a selected number of patients under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. The nursing scope of practice includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being. Until attainment of RN licensure, the new graduate RN Resident practices under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required

  • Must complete in-house orientation program.
  • Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing).
  • Must be a Graduate of an a registered professional nurse licensure qualifying education program registered by the State Education Department, (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred).
  • Must successfully complete RN NCLEX exam within 180 post-graduation date.

License/Certifications

  • Certifications required for assigned area of practice: BLS
  • Per New York State executive order EO #202.11:Suspension and Modification of Education Law and Regulations to permit graduates of registered professional nurse licensure qualifying education programs registered by the State Education Department to be employed to practice nursing under the supervision of a registered professional nurse and with the endorsement of the employing hospital for 180 days immediately following graduation;
