Security Officer

Job Description

As a Security Officer for G4S, variety is guaranteed. Your day-to-day duties will adapt to meet the demand of the business and will ensure no two days are exactly the same.

You’ll be the first port-of-call in ensuring the safety of our customers and clients based on a large vehicle manufacturing site in Sunderland, with full site training and support every step of the way.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Security Officer to join us on a full-time permanent basis to work across the busy site. This role will run on a 56hpw contract following a 7 on 3 off, 7 on 4 off shift pattern to cover days, nights and weekends.

Whilst previous experience is welcomed, it is not essential as we are able to offer full training. If you have a keen interest in keeping people safe and secure, come and join our team. We know you’ll get off to a flying start!

A typical week will have you based at a large manufacturing plant, ensuring visitors, staff and the premises remain safe and secure. Other elements of the role will include:

Building relationships with employers and community organisations
Working as part of a team and on your own depending on site requirements
Patrols of the site on foot and in a mobile patrol vehicle
Responding to security breaches
Access control

You’ll be responsible for a wide variety of duties including the management of visitor passes, liaising with customers, gatehouse duties, checking in contractors, reception duties, alarm calls, issuing passes and visitor vehicle checks

If you are aged 18 or over and are a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service all times, then this could be the career for you! Whilst we welcome experienced officers, if you’re looking for a change of pace we offer full SIA Security Guarding training.

Our contractual requirements mean that you will work on a full-time permanent basis, working a combination of days and nights. The requirement of this role means you will need to have a full UK driving licence and the ability to commute to the site.
