Job Description

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop a store business plan in line with the business strategy
  • Encourage and promote all opportunities to drive sales, leading by example
  • Implementation of BU marketing guidelines
  • Ensure store layout is within Marks and Spencer guidelines
  • Understand local customer needs and ensure this is delivered through both product and service
  • Proactively use all management information tools available to analyze performance and respond to trends with the appropriate action
  • Line Manage your direct reports using effective performance coaching to achieve results
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the seasonal look as per UK guidelines
  • Engage staff in the store with regular briefings and accurate and timely delivery of the recognition policy in store.
  • Monitor and take actions necessary to improve shrinkage and profit protection
  • Ensure store and staff presentation standards are consistent with brand requirements
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are fully compliant
  • Manage all third party contractors on site
  • Enhance sales through identification of trends related to footfall, conversion, UPT, etc.
  • Ensure a smooth and accurate process for stock management in the store
  • Manage your controllable cost lines in-store, to come in on or under target
  • Ensure store staff are trained in customer service requirements and that OSS is alive in the store consistently improving mystery shop results
  • Ensure sequential links for layout in consultation with the Visual Merchandiser
  • Monitor the feedback from staff and customers on the store products and services and give feedback to the relevant area where required
  • Ensure quality recruitment for store advisors and supervisors in the store in consultation with HR
  • Manage staff scheduling to optimize resource allocation and to ensure adequate staff cover on the floor at all times
  • Conduct performance appraisals of your team

Required Experience:

  • The candidate must have a minimum of 6+ years of experience in apparel retail
  • Must have handled the entire store operations including P&L of the store
  • Strong in commercials and know how to turn things around
  • Strong communication and people management skills
