We’ve got some big news Vessi fam! We’re opening up our first retail location in Metropolis at Metrotown and we’re looking to hire an Assistant Store Manager to play a key role as we take the next step towards becoming the world’s top wet weather athleisure company.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and overseeing our all-star team of retail staff with training, exceeding sales targets, managing a clean and organized working environment, and providing a memorable and unique Vessi experience to all our customers. You will also ensure exceptional performance and create a strong culture by leading by example as one of our Vessi brand ambassadors.

What You’ll Do:

Store Operations

Support Store Manager in ensuring all store operations meet company expectations and operational excellence: opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, cash wrap, inventory management, loss prevention, IT systems (POS), and health & safety
Maintain a clean and organized store appearance (ex. cleaning and drying footwear, maintaining water installations and fixtures, etc.)
Support community and event activations onsite as required
People Management

Collaborate with the Store Manager to recruit and onboard a team of Sales Associates and Team Leads who align with Vessi’s vision, mission, and core values
Deliver retail training to Team Leads and Sale Associates and ensure that all retail staff have a proper understanding of products, SOPs, and best practices
Drive employee engagement, create a strong store culture, and ensure the team is recognized and motivated
Advise, guide, and coach team on employee issues and escalate to the Store Manager as necessary

Act as a Vessi brand ambassador, live out our core values, and provide a seamless and memorable in-store experience for our customers
Lead by example in driving sales and high performance; ensure the team consistently meets and exceeds business goals and sales targets
Monitor and manage store financial targets and KPIs such as: sales per hour (SPH), average transaction value (ATV), conversion rate, net promoter score (NPS), and other inventory metrics
Ensure the team embraces a customer-focused mindset and consistently provides a seamless and memorable customer experience
What We’re Looking For:

2+ years of experience in retail management in the footwear/apparel industry
Experience in building and leading high-performing teams
Strong business acumen and leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Great attention to detail and problem solving skills
Self-motivated and positive customer-focused mindset
Ability to work flexible hours and holidays
