Stipend
Selected apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend as admissible under the Apprentices Act rules, as stated in the official notification. The notification does not fix a single rupee amount for this engagement, so candidates should treat the statutory stipend prescribed for their trade and qualification as applicable. The apprenticeship profile requires an updated bank account and eKYC, which is used for stipend payment.
Selection Process: Merit Only, No Exam
There is no written test or interview for HCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Candidates are selected on merit, calculated from academic marks as follows:
- 70% weightage is given to marks scored in the 10th (Matric) board examination.
- 30% weightage is given to marks scored in the relevant ITI trade.
- For fresher trades where ITI is not required (Mate Mines and Blaster/Shotfirer), 100% weightage is given to 10th board marks.
- If the 10th result is in CGPA, it is converted to percentage by multiplying the CGPA by 9.5.
- If two or more candidates secure equal merit marks, the candidate of higher age is placed ahead.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on 8 December 2026. Final engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per HCL’s requirements. Candidates should also note that completing apprenticeship training at HCL/MCP does not create any right to employment in Hindustan Copper Limited.

How to Apply for HCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Both steps below are mandatory. An application is treated as finally submitted only when both are completed.
Step 1 — Register on the Apprenticeship Portal
- Go to the Government of India apprenticeship portal at www.apprenticeship.gov.in and register as a Trade Apprentice candidate.
- Complete the profile carefully: your candidate profile must be 100% Aadhaar-verified, and the name, father’s name, mother’s name and date of birth must exactly match your 10th/ITI marksheets — any mismatch can lead to disqualification.
- Update your bank account and eKYC details in the profile, and enter your educational qualification correctly (ITI candidates enter ITI with marksheet details; fresher candidates enter 10th pass with marksheet details).
- Use “Establishment Search” and apply against Hindustan Copper Limited, Malanjkhand Copper Project for your trade.
- Note down your Apprenticeship Registration Number (in the format Axxxxxxxxx) and keep a print of the applied copy — it is needed in Step 2 and with your application.
Step 2 — Submit the Online Form on the HCL Website
- Visit www.hindustancopper.com and open the “Career” section, then the link for engagement of Trade Apprentices at Malanjkhand Copper Project (Advt. No. HCL/MCP/HR/Trade App./01/2026).
- Fill the online application form for only one trade — the one that best matches your qualification. Under the “One Applicant – One Application” rule, if multiple applications are submitted, only the first one is considered.
- Enter your Apprenticeship Registration Number from Step 1 in the correct column; without it, the application will not be treated as finally submitted.
- Upload your photograph, signature and, if applicable, the affidavit in the prescribed sizes and formats.
- Submit the form on or before 24 November 2026, and take a printout of the computer-generated application form and the acknowledgement slip for your records.
- Keep your registered email ID and mobile number active until the engagement process is complete, and check the HCL website regularly — every amendment or update will be published only on www.hindustancopper.com.
