Eligibility and Educational Qualification

Fresher category
- Fitter, Painter and Welder: Class 10 pass with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Medical Laboratory Technician trades: Class 12 pass with at least 50% aggregate marks and Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- The notice provides an exception to the minimum Class 10 percentage requirement for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. Check the notification for full conditions.
Ex-ITI category
Applicants generally need Class 10 with at least 50% aggregate marks and ITI in the relevant trade from a government-recognised ITI, with the required NCVT or SCVT certificate. Certain trades have subject-specific or additional qualification conditions. Check the exact trade requirements in the official notification before applying.
The notice also excludes some applicants who have already completed apprenticeship training or certain engineering, diploma or vocational qualifications followed by one year or more of training or job experience. Review the complete eligibility clauses if this may apply to you.
Eligible geographical areas
The notice limits applications to residents of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, SPSR Nellore and Chittoor districts in Andhra Pradesh, and Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka. Confirm your residence eligibility from the official PDF.
Age Limit and Relaxation
Candidates must have completed 15 years of age. The notification states an upper age limit of 22 years for Freshers and Ex-ITI candidates, and 24 years for MLT candidates, calculated as specified in the notice. Upper-age relaxation is available for OBC-NCL, SC/ST and PwBD candidates under the listed rules. Applicants claiming relaxation should check the required certificates and category conditions in the PDF.
Application Fee
The non-refundable processing fee is ₹100, payable online. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are exempt. Save or print the application acknowledgement after submission; the notice says it will be required during document verification.
Stipend During Training
This is a training stipend, not a regular employee salary. The notification lists the following monthly amounts:
| Category | Monthly stipend |
|---|---|
| Fresher, Class 10 | ₹8,200 |
| Fresher, Class 12 | ₹9,600 |
| Ex-ITI | ₹9,600 |
The notice describes increases in the prescribed minimum stipend during later training years. The applicable amount and training duration may depend on category and trade; consult the notification for the detailed terms.
Selection Process
Selection is based on a merit list prepared from qualifying examination marks; the notice does not specify a written examination or interview for this engagement. For Freshers, Class 10 marks are converted to a 200-mark basis. For Ex-ITI candidates, Class 10 and ITI marks are each converted to 100 and combined for a total of 200. MLT merit uses the specified Class 12 subjects and conversion method in the notice.
Shortlisted candidates must complete document verification and meet the prescribed medical fitness requirements. Keep original certificates and your application acknowledgement ready, and follow the official instructions for verification.
