APPSC AMVI Eligibility Criteria 2026

Apni age check karein: Age limit ko lekar confuse hain? Age Calculator se apni sahi age (saal, mahine, din) turant calculate karke eligibility confirm karein.

Age limit. Candidates must be between 21 and 36 years as on 1 July 2026. Upper-age relaxation: SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates get 5 years; Ex-Servicemen get their service period plus 3 years; NCC instructors get the same benefit; regular Andhra Pradesh State Government employees can deduct their service up to 5 years; retrenched temporary employees of the Census Department with at least 6 months of service get 3 years.

Educational qualification (reckoned as on 6 November 2026). A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering from a UGC-recognised university or equivalent, OR a diploma in Automobile Engineering from SBTET Andhra Pradesh, the Technological Diploma Examination Board, Hyderabad, or an equivalent board. Note the difference: the degree route accepts Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, but the diploma route accepts Automobile Engineering only — a Mechanical Engineering diploma does not qualify.

Driving licence and experience. Every candidate must hold a motor driving licence with a Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) endorsement and have at least 3 years of driving experience. Where candidates with 3 years of experience are not available, 2 years of experience is acceptable. This is the condition that rejects the most applications, so confirm both the endorsement and the experience before applying.

Women candidates. Women must hold a driving licence. A woman candidate holding only an LMV licence must obtain the HTV endorsement within 2 years of joining, failing which her services will be terminated.

Physical standards. Men: height 165 cm, chest 81 cm (84 cm on expansion). Women: height 152.5 cm.

Who can apply. Candidates from other states can apply, but they get no reservation and no fee exemption (except Ex-Servicemen) and must pay the full fee of Rs. 370. The qualification, licence and experience conditions apply to every applicant.
